Can you Transfer Money from Venmo to Western Union?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to send money from Venmo to Western Union and vice versa. Venmo only supports Venmo to Venmo transfers, however there are a few ways through which your money can be transferred to Western Union.
Withdraw Venmo Money from your Bank account
At first, you will have to withdraw Venmo money to your bank and from there you will transfer funds to Western Union to make the desired payments.
After your funds have reached your bank account. You can then fund your Western Union transfers with your bank. Transfers made using a Bank account can take 0-4 business days to be available for the receiver.

How to add and confirm your bank account with Venmo
To add a bank account with Venmo you must visit the website and select “Link Bank Account” and follow these steps:
- Go to the “Me” tab by tapping your picture or initials
- Tap the Settings in the top right corner and select “Payment Methods”
- Tap “Add a bank or card” and then select “Bank”
- Choose a verification method
Venmo recommends that bank accounts should be verified before making a funds transfer in order to avoid any uncertainty. There are two ways you can verify your bank account in Venmo:
Instant Verification
For Instant Verification, you will have to provide the username and password that you use for online banking. Venmo will check the information and your account balance to make sure that the account belongs to you and there are enough funds in the bank account to cover the required transactions.
Micro transfers.
Once you have added your bank account manually to Venmo, you will receive small amounts (micro transfers) by Venmo into your bank account which will verify that the account belongs to you. The amounts will be $1 or less.
After adding and verifying your bank account, you will now be able to transfer funds from Venmo to your bank account and it will take 1 to 3 business days.
