Western UnionTransfer Exceeds the Limit. Try Again with a Smaller Amount – What Does it Mean?

The error can indicate several problems with the app or the money transfer.

Here is the order of troubleshooting methods you can use to fix the issue.

Try a Smaller Amount

Try lowering the amount of money transfer.

If you read the error message carefully, The app is advising you to send a lower amount. This can happen either because your receiver is exceeding the receiving or you are exceeding the sending limit for the last 30 days.

The amount you have remaining in your limit is less than what you are trying to send.

Reinstall the App

If you believe you or your receiver have not exceeded the transfer quota in the last 30 days. There might be technical issues with the app. You can try to reinstall the app just to make sure you have the last version and everything is working fine on the technical end.

If you are using Western Unions website. Try clearing the browser’s cache and cookies or try using a different browser.

Wait for the Limit to Reset

If your transfer is being stopped for exceeding the limit either by the receiver or the sender. There is nothing much you would be able to do except to wait. The limit is set to reset for the last 30 days.

Please note that the limit does not apply on a monthly basis, but on transfers made in the last 30 days.
